Job OverviewAnimal Farm Family LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role will be critical in managing the financial integrity of our rapidly expanding e-commerce brands, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and supporting our leadership team with key insights. This is a hybrid role based at our headquarters in Boise, Idaho.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring accuracy and GAAP compliance.
- Develop and maintain financial schedules, particularly for:
- Leases
- Inventory reserves
- Bad debt reserves
- Sales and gross margin validation
- Monitoring short-term vs. long-term liabilities
- Amortization and depreciation schedules
- Perform and oversee key balance sheet reconciliations, including areas such as:
- Unit cost
- Inventory valuation
- Sales recognition
- Cost of sales
- Audit and reconcile sales tax across all companies.
- Assist with both internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory reporting and internal control requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to drive accuracy and efficiency in accounting operations.
- Partner with other departments (e.g., operations, sales) to ensure that financial reporting aligns with business operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA mandatory.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in accounting, with a preference for candidates with retail or e-commerce experience.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Acumatica).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, with a focus on maintaining schedules and auditing financial statements.
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Preferred experience in unit cost, inventory valuation, sales recognition, cost of sales, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000 per year/year depending on experience. The total compensation package may include performance bonuses, benefits, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
